Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Limited (Traditional Chinese: 台灣積體電路製造股份有限公司, abbrev. TSMC) is the largest dedicated independent semiconductor foundry worldwide, with its headquarters and main operations located in Taiwan. Founded in 1987, its market capitalization as of 9/30/2003: US$40,366Million. The company is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange and on the New York Stock Exchange under the trading symbol of TSM. The Chairman and CEO is Dr. Morris Chang. Philips holds a 19.1% stake in TSMC.
