Shanghai Stadium (???????????????) is a multi-use stadium in Shanghai, People's Republic of China|China and is one of the largest stadiums anywhere in the world. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer)|football matches. The stadium was built in 1997 and holds 80,000 people

Shanghai Stadium is at the same time also the name of nearby a metro station part of Shanghai Metro/Line|1.

From here a lot of regional and interregional buslines start. On some metromaps this station is indicated as a transfer station to Shanghai Metro/Line|3 (station Longcao Lu), however the stations are quite far from eachother. Unfortunately the South Railway Station platforms for Shanghai Metro/Line|3 are currently closed, and the Shanghai Metro/Line|4 is not yet in operation. Both these would allow better transfer possibilities.
