Shanghai Metro, Line 5 - Xinmin Line

Shanghai Metro/Line|5 was opened in 2003, making it the youngest metro line in Shanghai so far, and it is also the only metro line that is only connected to one other line. The location makes this line an extension of Shanghai Metro/Line|1, but it is being run by another company.

This line connects the southern most station of Shanghai Metro/Line|1, Xin Zhuang with the Minhang Development Zone at the other end of Shanghai Metro/Line|5. Minhang is a satellite city of Shanghai.
