Shanghai Maglev Train is the first commercial magnetic levitation train|maglev line in the world. Its construction began in March, 2001, and began public service on January 1, 2003.

The line is operated by Shanghai Maglev Transportation Development Co., Ltd..

The line from Shanghai subway line 2 station Longyang Road to Pudong International Airport, total track length is 29.863 kilometers. The train takes 7 minutes and 20 seconds, and the top speed is 431 kilometers per hour.

As of June 2005, the price of ticket is at 50 RMB yuan (about 6 US dollars) and 40 RMB for airline passengers with proof of airline ticket purchase.
