Evergreen Marine Corporation (or Evergreen Group) is a Taipei, Taiwan based Containerization|containerized marine shipping company. Mainly serving the east coast of Asia with the west coast of North America, with over 100 container ships. The fourth largest containerized shipping company behind A.P._Moller-Maersk_Group|Maesrk, Mediterranean_Shipping_Company_S.A.|Mediterranean and P%26O_Nedlloyd|P&O Nedlloyd, the company calls on 240 ports worldwide in about 80 countries. The company was founded 1 September 1968, by the chairman of the company, billionaire Dr. Yung-Fa Chang. The company also owns the Uniglory Marine Corp.,Taiwan and the Hatsu Marine Ltd., UK. Also Evergreen Marine aquired in 1999 the italian shipping company Lloyd Triestino (org. founded as "??sterreichischer Lloyd" in 1835) . Evergreen also owns part of EVA Airways and Uniair, builds containers and ships, manages ports, and conducts engineering and real estate development.




Evergreen Marine (incl: Uniglory, Lloyd Triestino & Hatsu) operated 153 container ships with 439,538 TEU on 1 May 2005.
