Chia-Wei Woo Wikipedia

Professor Chia-Wei Woo (?????????) was the first president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in from 1988 to 2001.

He delicated it effort to promote the new university to the top class and raised considerable sum of funding for development. He has been Hong Kong Affairs Adviser and his slightly pro-Beijing attitude had been criticised by students. He was considered very close to Chung Sze Yuen.

Before serving at HKUST Woo was the president of San Francisco State University.
