Blind Shaft (Mang jing) is a 2003 film written and Film director|directed by Li Yang. It won the "Silver Bear" award at 2003 Berlin International Film Festival. The film is based on the Chinese literature|Chinese writer Liu Qingbang's short novel Shen Mu (Sacred Wood).

A film noir that comments on socialism. In the dark caves of one of the many illegal Chinese coal mines, Song Jinming (played by Qiang Li) and Tang Zhaoyang (Shuangbao Wang) murder a co-worker. By making the murder looks like an accident, they use their colleague's death to extort money from the mine's management. After having got the money, both guys go to a nearby town and soon meet another potential "victim".
