She is married, has one child, and resides in Sacramento. She was born December 10, 1941, in San Francisco, Calif.
Maeley L. Tom is the founder and CEO of the public affairs firm Tom & Associates. She formerly served as a Senior Vice President of a Washington D.C. based public affairs firm Cassidy & Associates. Prior to joining Cassidy & Associates, Maeley spent 20 years in the California Legislature holding the unique distinction of serving in chief staff positions in both houses. In the State Assembly she served as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Assembly under former Rules Committee Chairman Louis J. Papan and Speaker Willie L. Brown Jr. In the State Senate she served as Chief of Staff to the former Senate Pres. Pro Tem David Roberti. Ms. Tom was selected by President Reagan to serve on his Advisory Committee on Women's Business Ownership. She was appointed by President Clinton to serve on the U.S. Delegation to the United Nations World Conference on Women in New York in 1995. She also serves on Gov. Gray Davis State Advisory Task Force on Diversity.
